There are many power supply methods for small wind turbines, one of which is a combination of small wind turbines, solar power generation, and two sets of batteries without market power. When the sunlight is normal during the day, the solar panel pack supplies power to the equipment and charges the battery. Meanwhile, small wind turbines drive air conditioning to operate when there is wind. When there is wind at night and on cloudy days, small wind turbines provide power to all equipment, while only supplying equipment or batteries during windy hours.
At night and on cloudy days, with little or no wind, it is powered by batteries. Compared to solar energy, unmanned stations using batteries and diesel generators as backup power sources require much less redundant capacity for solar cells and batteries, as well as much lower investment and maintenance costs.
Another type is a power supply combination of small wind turbines and two sets of batteries without a market power source, mainly used for microwave direct discharge stations and microcells on high mountain tops. These places generally have abundant wind resources, low investment, short construction periods, and fast results. Generally speaking, there are very few users here, and there are basically no fixed users, so the signal requirements are not high and can be fully operated.
Another type is a power supply combination of mains electricity, small wind turbines, and two sets of batteries. This is the main application mode, because China has a vast territory, and most mountainous areas, agricultural and pastoral areas, and island cities have four types of small hydropower stations. They often experience power outages day and night, with insufficient power supply and low power output. Due to seasonal influences, power supply is unstable, wind and rain faults are frequent, and there are seasonal long-term power outages or no mains electricity.
Adding small wind turbines can not only reduce maintenance costs in areas with relatively good wind resources, but also save electricity costs and reduce base station disconnection rates. In urban areas with abundant wind resources, install vertical axis small wind turbines on the basis of existing power supply equipment to independently supply power to the equipment when the wind is stable, saving energy. When the wind is insufficient, it will automatically switch to the battery and use city electricity as a backup power source.
