Reasons and solutions for severe shaking of wind turbines

Severe shaking of wind turbines can cause the following phenomena: unstable operation of the wind turbine, increased noise, significant vibration of the wind turbine head and body, and in severe cases, pulling up the steel wire rope can cause the wind turbine to fall and be damaged.

 

Analysis of the causes of severe shaking of wind turbines. The fixing bolts of the generator base are loose, the variable pitch wind turbine is stuck, the fixed pitch wind turbine blades are deformed, the tail fixing screws are loose, and the column cables are loose.

 

Adjustment is ineffective. The following phenomena can occur when the direction of the fan is not adjusted properly: when the wind speed of the fan is low (generally below 3-5mm/s), it often does not face the wind, making it difficult for the machine head to rotate. When the wind is strong (such as wind speed exceeding 12mm/s), the fan cannot deflect and speed limit in a timely manner, causing the fan to rotate at an excessive speed for a long time, resulting in poor stability of the fan operation.

 

Analysis of the reasons for ineffective direction adjustment. The pressure bearing at the upper end of the fan column (or tower) is damaged, or the pressure bearing is not installed during the installation of the fan. Due to long-term lack of maintenance of the fan, there is too much oil sludge on the seat rotating body and pressure bearing, and the grease ages and hardens, making it difficult to rotate the head. The rotating body and pressure bearing are installed without grease, resulting in rusting of the rotating body.

 

The abnormal noise during the operation of the fan is as follows: when there is obvious noise, friction sound or obvious knocking sound when the wind speed is low.

 

Analysis of the causes of abnormal noise. Loose fastening components of screws and bolts; Generator bearings lack oil or are loose; Generator bearings damaged; Friction between the wind turbine and other components.

 

Generator not generating electricity phenomenon: When the generator is running, there is no current output.

 

Analysis of the reasons why the generator does not generate electricity. Generator transmission line open circuit; The rectifier tube of the generator is damaged; Poor contact of transmission line joints; Generator overheating or coil burnout; The fuse is burnt out.

 

The wind turbine speed significantly decreases, which is generally more intuitive. That is to say, when the wind turbine is difficult to start, the speed cannot increase, especially when the rated wind speed is reached, the wind turbine speed cannot reach the rated speed.

 

Analysis of the reasons for the significant decrease in wind turbine speed. The variable pitch and wind turbine blades did not reset after speed regulation, the generator bearings were damaged, the brake band and brake disc had excessive friction, and the wind turbine blades were deformed.

 

Exclusion method. If the wind turbine blades are deformed or the pitch distance from the blades is not reset, check, adjust or replace the new wind turbine blades, check and adjust the brake clearance to ensure the free operation of the wind turbine. If the generator bearings are damaged, they should be replaced with new bearings.
